In Norway we have many old tales about trolls. According to the tales trolls are turned into stone if they see sunlight. The remains of this tree actually looks a bit like a troll that has been surprised by the sunlight. Photo courtesy of my dad.

will it come to life in the night again? (watched too many horror films :o)
kris: No, when it has seen the daylight the transformation is final, so it's safe to stick around after nightfall :o)
I have looked at this photo a few times, and each time I "see" the face of the troll in different positions and angles. Very cool.
Ooh! It does look rather like a troll. I've got a good one that could be a frozen troll. I'll have to post it on Tuesday for you.
natalie: Sounds great. I will check it out!
My son told me about the troll/ sunlight tales! I love it. When we go hiking we like to keep an eye out for trolls who did not make it to safety!
jenni: Yes, thats a good thing to do. You never know when you will meet one :o)
