This shot shows one of the tasks that had to be done in the mine. Lots of stone had to be removed from the mine to the outside. Before they had engines to pull the wagons, they had to do it manually.

Are there any mines still open and working?
dutchie: No, all the mines are closed now. They closed the last mine in 1957. There is more silver to be found but the cost of digging it out is to high compared to todays silver price.
